Protein-Rich Oatmeal
Posted by Nikki Kovacs on
Oatmeal with an egg is a nutritious and creamy breakfast option for babies that’s packed with protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients. To prepare, cook a small portion of oats in water or milk until soft, then whisk in a lightly beaten egg while stirring continuously to create a smooth, custard-like texture. This gentle cooking method ensures the egg is fully cooked and safe for your little one. You can enhance the flavor by adding mashed banana, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or a dollop of apple puree. It’s a wholesome meal that’s easy to digest and keeps your baby energized for the day ahead!
RECIPE:
- 1 cup of your choice milk
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking GF rolled oats (I like Bob's Red Mill)
- 1 egg
- optional: handful of frozen blueberries
STEPS
- Bring 1 cup of your choice milk to boil in a small pot.
- Add 1/2 cup oats, stir and cover for 5-7 minutes.
- Crack an egg into the oatmeal and stir for 2 minutes.
- Serve to your little one, with a touch of agave, mixed fruits, or dash of cinnamon.
